Obituary of Lorette Kirkland
Kirkland, Lorette Anne (nee Diesbourg) –
A resident of Blenheim, Lorette Anne Kirkland passed away at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at the age of 63.
Lorette was the daughter of the late William and Jeanne (nee Ouellette) Diesbourg.
Beloved wife of Stuart Kirkland for over 40 years.
Dear mother of Bill Kirkland, Jeanne Kirkland (Jeff), Jared Kirkland (Karen), Valerie Kirkland (Issac) and Jordan Kirkland (Mae).
Sister of Ted Diesbourg (late Linda), Emily Bellemore (Roland), Carol Primeau (Bradley) and Mark Diesbourg (Kathy). Also missed by sister in laws Marylou Cove (Brian) and Nina Kirkland-Kelly (Brian). She will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Lorette’s love for health care started at a young age volunteering as a Candy Striper. She enjoyed caring for other peoples loved ones. She completed College in Laboratory Technology and worked at the Village on the Ridge caring for over 26 years. She enjoyed the residents and working with their families.
Lorette’s greatest love was for her family. She encouraged her children to value hard work and education. She always wanted to celebrate their accomplishments and would always make sure they had the most love and support.
Lorette could always be found with a book in her hand as she loved to read. It was not uncommon for her to get through a book in a day. She loved to garden and take day trips with her cherished sister Emily.
Lorette’s incredible strength was evident throughout her life in raising 5 children. It was tested near the end of her life as she battled with cancer.
A private family interment to take place in Evergreen Cemetery on Saturday April 11, 2020. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
