Surrounded with love from family members near and far, Lillian Percy (nee Gushue) passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Shannex»s Tucker Hall care home in Saint John, New Brunswick. While she cherished her time spent with family during her 3-year stay in New Brunswick, her heart is forever in Newfoundland.
Born in Brigus, Newfoundland to Leonard and Edith Gushue, Lillian was a caring sister to her ten siblings, including her surviving sister, Mary Lush. She was a devoted wife to Clarence Percy (11924-2008) and is survived by her two beloved children, Leslie (Barbara Gilbert) and Lana (Ross Mouland). She loved her family-in-law, including her surviving brother-in-law, Ralph Percy, and sisters-in-law, Selma Percy and Olive Percy.
Lillian was proud to see her family grow through he years and became Nan to seven grandchildren, who she cherished dearly: Scott (Heather Wicks), Denyse Brian Rowe), Susan (Mark Miller), Maria (Dwayne Bryden), Julia (Eric Atkinson). Lydia (Cody O’Keefe), and Darrin. The highlight of her later years was seeing and talking about her eight great-grandchildren, who called her GG or Great Nan, Andrew, Ethan, Aaliyah, Chloe, Ella, Caroline, Freya.
She is survived by many adoring nieces and nephews, and dear friends.
Lillian was a devoted friend, a hardworking caregiver, a community volunteer, a cancer survivor, a lover of music and church, and the heart of her family. She will be remembered for her strength, joy of life, wit and friendship, and will be honoured with interment at a later date in Brigus, Newfoundland.
