Obituary
Larry Thomas Sidey, 73, passed away peacefully in the Welland General Hospital on Sunday, May 24, 2020 with family at his bedside. Larry was the beloved husband of Freda Priddle-LaRose and was blessed to spend 30 years together. He was a devoted father to Diane Sidey and the late David Sidey, as well as his step-children Lori St.Pierre (Steve), Richard LaRose (Kristen), Tanya Duerksen (Adam) and Carla LaRose (Atom). He will be deeply missed by his grandchild, Anelle Sidey and step-grandchildren, Magenta LaRose and Melena LaRose. Larry is survived by his step-brother Fred Hines and his cousins Shirley Armstrong (Goldie), Rob Doan (Janet) and Leonard Doan. Predeceased by his parents and Aunt Vi.
Larry was a humble and very caring person that anyone was lucky to know. His love for his family was his first priority, especially his granddaughter Anelle who was his pride and joy. His love of food and cooking is what he will be remembered for most as he was always cooking something in the kitchen. His family, friends, and people in need never went without food as he would show up at their homes and places he frequented with many different dishes he had made that day.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place with arrangements through the Welland Funeral Home. Larry’s family will have a private memorial service for him at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Parkinson Canada in honour of Larry.
