Obituary of Jonthan Nickels
Suddenly at his home on April 15, 2020. Jonathan David Nickels of Owen Sound at the age of 36 years. Dearly loved and cherished Husband of Victoria Phillips. Loving Father of Raine, Alyssa and Jaiden Nickels. Son of Sandra Nickels (Lonnie Hunt), Rick Hardman. Sibling of William Nickels, Bruce & Alena Hardman & Thomas Beeston. Jonathan will also be missed by his Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, his many Nieces & Nephews, as well as his friends and anyone who had the blessing of meeting Jonathan. Predeceased by his Grandparents Florence Mole, Frederick Nickels, & Clayton Mole. Previous Spouse Dana Cranwell.
Jonathan was a warmhearted soul, born and raised in Kitchener Ontario where he attended Doon Public School and Eastwood Collegiate Institute. He spent his youth with a close knit-group of neighbourhood boys. His friends fondly remember all-day adventures by bike, exploring nearby forests, and making mischief with Jon until after the streetlights came on.
During summer vacations, Jon enjoyed spending time swimming, camping, and bonfires at Gramma Mole’s trailer at Spry lake. Weekends were often spent at Nana and Papa Hardman’s ATVing, snowmobiling and shooting BB guns. Many of these fond memories he continued when he became a father and had his own children. Camping at McGregor Point Provincial Park and spending weekends along Saugeen Shores & Georgian Bay became a much loved past time with his young family.
In his adolescent years, Jon found an interest in music and was fascinated by many rockstar legends. His love for music continued to grow into his adult years. Acoustic guitar was his instrument of choice and you could often hear him jamming throughout the night into the wee hours of the morning with his buddies or strumming from his balcony on a warm summer’s day.
In 2005, he started his career at Ledgerock Stone Quarry. His buddies there knew him to be an amazing friend and worker. Always fun to be around and there was never a dull moment if you had the pleasure to work with «Half Dime»
