Obituary of John Everett McLeod
McLEOD: John «Jack» Everett –
A resident of Chatham, Jack McLeod passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at the Grand Strand Medical Centre, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on Friday, January 31, 2020 at the age of 80.
Born in Merlin, Jack was the son of the late Everett and Frances (Moody) McLeod.
Beloved husband of 58 years to Donna (nee Maine).
Loving Dad to Lori, Michael (late Barb), Teri (Matt), and Tami (Barry).
Proud Papa to Ryan (Kristina), Amanda (Chris), Kevin, the late Amber Rae, Daniel (Treasure), Katelyn (John), Sherri (Ross), and Jeremy (Becki).
Great Papa to Ayden, Jacob, Grayce and Dakota.
Dear brother to Richard, Linda, Gloria and predeceased by Patricia and Ronald.
Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
John retired from Kent County Highways, Fram, Eaton Springs and Meritor.
He loved his family, his old cars, and a beer with family, friends and neighbours. He enjoyed spending time at the trailer and playing pool. He loved to putz around, grow cactuses, hoarded t-shirts, fed the birds, and chased off squirrels. He was always there to support and encourage his family.
As per John’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
A Remembering When… will take place on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at the Kent-Belgian-Dutch-Canadian Club, 34 Byng Ave, Chatham from 1:00 – 5:00 pm.
