John Thomas Joseph Bartlett
It is with great sadness that we announce the recent passing of John Bartlett at the age of 60. John died suddenly on November 17, 2020 in Flin Flon Manitoba.
John is survived by his spouse Charmaine: 2 daughters; Alesha (Joel Greene) and Hailey (Steven Radcliffe): 2 stepsons; Doug Richard (Shelly) and Jay McKay (Heather): 10 grandchildren; Kiarra, Janeah, Avryn, Jaxton, Byron, Hanna, Brandon, Alaina, Dillon and Jaden: sisters Carol (Pat Costigan) and Kim (Mike Longaphie): brothers Perry (Paula) and Larry (Ronny); as well as far too many nieces, nephews, in-laws, aunts, uncles and cousins to name. John was predeceased by his father Gus and mother Cora, stepson Rob and niece Danielle.
John was born on April 29, 1960 in Brantford Ontario, then lived most of his early life in Newfoundland and Labrador. While attending Memorial University John went to Flin Flon in 1980 for a summer student job with HBM&S and never left. Flin Flon became his permanent and forever home. John loved the north and the outdoors, especially camping, fishing and boating, although the boat was more just a means to be able to catch bigger fish. He also knew his way around the kitchen and if you ever had the chance to taste his gravy you know he was one hell of a good cook!! John lived life to the fullest, on his terms and loved the life he and Char made. I am sure he’s up there now looking down saying “guess I cashed in all my coupons for that ride. Worth it!!!”
A private family service was held on November 26, 2020 with plans for a larger Celebration of Life to include family and friends at a future time. Memorial tributes may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
And so we say “so long for now Mr. Bartlett, until we meet again. We will miss your kind heart and love you forever”
