Passed away comfortably at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. Forever missed by Tish, his wife and friend of 59 years. His children Susan (Brenda), Nancy (Leonard), and Jennifer (John), and grandchildren Justine, John-Anthony, and Jesse will remember his life stories told with interest and humour.
John enjoyed 27 years as a Provincial Court Judge, earning the respect and admiration of all for his responsible decisions and his brave involvement in improving the judicial process for all Ontarians. Despite the status he held as a judge, all that knew him would agree that he was very humble and believed that every person had value. He raised his daughters with that same belief, that is, to treat all with respect and to recognize each person’s worth.
Not only was John an intelligent man, he was also very kind-hearted. People would describe him as gregarious, joyful and loving. He was quite a story teller, and loved to infuse humour into his tales of his youth and family memories. He truly had a love of connecting with others.
His wife Patricia was the love of his life. He affectionately referred to her as “Tishy.” They enjoyed several years of active involvement in community theatre with a particular love of musicals. Another joy was travelling to the Caribbean visiting their beloved island of Barbados many times over the years.
John touched the lives of all who had the good fortune to know him.
May his spirit live on.
A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
