Joan Esther Budgell (nee O’Brien)
April 17, 1948 – November 09, 2020
Passed peacefully away on Monday, November 9, 2020 at the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre, Fort McMurray, after a courageous battle with cancer, Joan Esther Budgell (nee O’Brien), formerly of Bell Island and Glovertown, age 72 years.
Predeceased by her husband Earl; daughter-in-law Carrol; parents Thomas and Doris O’Brien; brothers: Ronnie, Thomas and Gary; nephew Thomas Butler.
Leaving to mourn with countless wonderful memories, her beloved children: Carol Budgell-Manning (Randy) and Tom; grandchildren whom she adored: Sarah (Ryland) and Brett; step-grandchildren: Rhea Dale (Aaron) and Daniel Manning; great-grandchildren: Emelia, Eliza, Nathaniel, Isaac, Lincoln, Elias and Jonah; sisters: Carol O’Brien, Edith Curnew (Patrick) and Gail Burke (Bill); brother Walter (Gail); sister-in-law Dianne O’Brien; brother-in-law Howard (Celie); special cousins and friends Doreen Budgell and Linda Thorne; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, especially Cathy, Robert and their family.
Joan loved spending time with family, baking and preparing meals for others as well as playing a game of bingo. She will be dearly missed.
Joan appreciated the support of The Fort McMurray Golden Years Society and The Nistawoyou Friendship Centre where she enjoyed wonderful hospitality and friendships.
