Obituary of Jim Ward
Ward, “Jim” Kenneth James Jerrard of Summer’s Corners died at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Saturday evening, August 29, with his wife and sister-in-law by his side. Beloved husband of Doreen (Brown) Ward, brother of Ron Ward (late Leona) and sister Lorraine Rath, and brother-in-law to Phyllis Howey (Gerald), Harold Brown(Shirley), Fred Brown(Cathy) and Sharon Brown. Predeceased by sisters and brother-in-law Bonnie Holmes and Don and Ella Mae Brown. Beloved uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews. Born to Alvin and Constance (Fulcher) Ward in Union on September 30, 1937. The family soon bought a farm on Highway 3 east of Walker side road. Jim and Doreen were married on October 7, 1961. Jim spent his career working for CN and farming the family farm. He was also a member of Malahide Fire Department, No. 2 Station in Summer’s Corners. Upon retirement, he worked in tobacco and took up woodworking as a hobby. He was always a frequenter of local coffee shops and loved his family. Visitation will be held at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Thursday, September 3, 2020 evening where the funeral service will be held on Friday September 4, 2020. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, friends and family who wish to attend the visitation or funeral please call the funeral home at (519 773 8400) to register. Private interment will follow at the Aylmer Cemetery. (Masks are required). Donations to the Malahide Firefighter’s Association or Cancer Society (Research) that would be appreciated.
