It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear mother, Jessie Payne (nee Bennett) on December 14th,2020 at the age of 94 years at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Centre surrounded by her loving family. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children; Rowena, Theresa (Garry), Rosetta (Bax), Thelma (Sidney), Darlene, Jackie (Alain) and Aaron (Hind), her grandchildren: Charlene, Melvina (Lew), Roger, Kerry (Kate), Kim (Clarence), Shirley (Ray), Lorilyn (Jamie), Justin (Amanda), Raelyn (Greg), Charmaine (Jason), Shonagh, Cyrilanne (Mark) and Evan (Alea), great-grandchildren; David (Kendra), Vanessa (Josh), Christa (Jon), Roslynn (Kristian), Alex Laing, Sophie, Alex Shears, Faith, Wesley, Mimi, Oceanna, Jessalyn, Hannah, James and Ashlynn,great-great-grandchildren; Katherine, Lincoln, Marshall, Harper, Freya; siblings; Lloyd (Louise), Margaret, Anna (Walter), Raymond (Maria), Gerald (Joyce, Eric (Dulcie), Shelia (Jim), Gordon, sister-in-law, Evangeline Payne. She also leaves to mourn a large circle of extended family and friends. Jessie was predeceased by husband Winton, son, Winton Jr.; daughter, Marion; grandchildren, Tiffany and Zachary, sons-in-law; Roland, John, Melvin and Harry; grand son-in-law, Craig; parents, Robert and Catherine Bennett; parents-in-law, Grant and Esther Payne; siblings; Stella, Cornelius, Donald and Olga; brothers and sisters-in-law; Percy, Hilda,Violet, Viola, Gordon, Marie, Melvin, Edward, Albert, Leonard, Garfield, Dave, George, Willie Winton, Wilson, Ellen, Jemima, Orelia, Sarah Ann, Ruth, Annie, Edna and Rose Ellen.
A special thank you for the loving care provided to our mother by the staff of 4 south, Corner Brook Long Term Care and home care workers, Peggy and Marilyn.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Parsons Funeral Home and Chapel 63 North Main St. Deer Lake, NL. The family will be receiving family and friends at Parsons Funeral Home and Chapel on Wednesday December 16th ,2020 from 2-4 pm, also where the funeral service will take place on Thursday December 17th ,2020 at 11 am. with Rev. Rose Officiating. Internment will follow at the family plot in the Anglican Church Cemetery in Cow Head. Due to the Government covid-19 restrictions the funeral service will be restricted in number.
