Jennie Irene Drake
1920-2020
Peacefully at the PEI Atlantic Baptist Home, on Thursday,
September 10, 2020, the death occurred of Jennie Irene Drake
(Barwise), formerly of Waterside, age 100
years.
Loving mother of Donald, Janeth Crosby (Brian), Marion
Drake-Arbing (Steve) and Margaret Butcher (Mark). Mother-in-law of
Wanita Drake. Cherished grandmother of Trent, Ralph (Bettina),
Jennifer (Matt), Jason, Veronica (Don), Joshua and Charlotte.
Great-grandmother of Isabelle, Danielle, Ella, Owen, Sam, Olivia,
Nathan and Darien. Jennie will be missed by her siblings
Betty Matheson, Bob Barwise, Donnie Barwise (Betty) and Thelma Duncan.
Sister-in-law of Carolyn Barwise. Fondly remembered by numerous nieces
and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Finlay Drake, her sister Helen
Thompson (Fred), brothers David Barwise, Peter (infancy),
sister-in-law Janet Barwise and brothers-in-law Alex Matheson and Joe
Duncan.
Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, Stratford. Due
to current restrictions a private family funeral service will be held.
Interment will take place at St. Andrew’s United Church
Cemetery, Vernon Bridge.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St.
Andrew’s United Church, Vernon Bridge or the Canadian Cancer
Society – PEI.
