Jean Viola Crandall
1932-2020
Jean Viola Crandall – 88, of New
Minas, Kings County, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 in the
Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Wolfville, she was a
daughter of the late Bryant and Alberta (Thorpe) MacDonald. Jean was a
faithful follower of Jesus and read her Bible every day. She loved her
Lord. She had been employed picking apples at Hennigar’s,
cleaned houses and worked as a waitress with Wood’s Lunch.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother,
homemaker and friend. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and
loved her. She enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting and going for
walks along the beach at the cottage in Huntington’s
Point. She is survived by her husband, Earl; a daughter,
Sheila (Lawrence) Meerman; grandchildren, Ashley (Ryan) LeBlanc, Lacy
Lockhart and Shayna (Curtis) Lockhart; great grandchildren, Oliver
Leopold, Colton Malcolm Lockhart and Cooper Paul Jax Lockhart; nieces
and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate
family. She was predeceased by her first husband, Malcolm Lockhart;
sons, Paul and Gary Lockhart; sisters, Hilda Schofield, Alberta Casey,
Mary Dunham and Amy Spencer; a brother, William «Bill».
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 9,
2020 in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County. Donations in
memory may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and
Cremation Services, Kentville.
