Jean’s Obituary
Swallow, Jean Elizabeth (Langille) – 84, Debert and formerly of Bass River, passed away Thursday, August 6th, 2020 in Debert Court. Born in Economy, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence «Pop» and Virginia (Murray) Langille. Jean enjoyed camping, dancing, crafts, sewing and knitting. She loved her dogs and cats. She enjoyed making maple syrup with Harv. She is survived by children, Cathy (Guido) Vanderdonk, Ohio; Kenneth Crowe, Great Village; Leora (Randy) Grue, Bass River; stepdaughter, Martha Forrest, Parrsboro; sisters, Marilyn, Five Islands; Audrey (Jack), Ontario; Sharon (Ross), Bass River; grandchildren, Ben and Jim Forrest; Cameron and Clayton Young; Holly and Allisyn Grue; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Mckenna Forrest; Kaylee and Jaxon Young; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Harvey; brother, Les «Sonny»; brother-in-law Wendell. A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Debert Court for their kindness, love and compassion. Cremation has taken place under the direction of MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Oxford (902-447-2930). A burial service for family and friends will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, August 13, 2020 in Riverside United Church Cemetery, Bass River.
