Jean Arbour Daoussis

It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Jean, affectionately known by all as Yia Yia, who passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Spiro Daoussis, her parents Charles and Agnes ( Mininch) Arbour, her siblings and her brother and sisters in law to whom she was devoted.
She leaves in mourning her four sons Alexander, James ( Tina Kournikakis ), Leonard (Malmi Sin), Bill (Annick Desjardins) and her daughter in law Debra Orr ( Albert Poole), her grandchildren Michael, Lindsay, Christina (Christopher Jackson), Gabriel and Emmanuelle.
Jean has also left in mourning her nieces Gaëtane Forget (André Robillard) and Eoanna (Tony Mylonopoulos) and Catherine Daoussis (Graham Macrae) all of whom Jean considered the daughters she never had.
Yia Yia had a gift of touching the lives of all those she befriended and shall be remembered lovingly by her many friends whose beautiful messages of condolence are a source of great pride and comfort to Jean’s family.
Special thanks to the Cardiogenix Medical Group and in particular to Dr. Ashok Oommen and to Cheryl for their devoted love and care of Yia Yia over the years which not only extended her life but ensured that she remained vibrant, healthy and totally involved in life right to the end.
A private interment shall take place at the Mount Royal Cemetery. A celebration of life is being planned for a future date when Covid 19 conditions permit.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Miriam Foundation whose mission is the improvement of the lives of persons with intellectual disabilities.
