Obituary of James «Jim» Verne Bondy
BONDY, James Verne
Passed away on December 1, 2020 at the age of 81 years. Loving husband of Carol of 63 years. Cherished father of Tracy (Kevin) Craig, Tim (Cheryl) Bondy, Teri (Jeff) Gorick, and Todd (Stephanie) Bondy. Beloved Papa of Adam (Meg), Catie (Michael), Jenna (Greg), Dawne (Jeff), Taylor (Steve), Karly (J.R), and Matthew (Ainsley). Loving Great Papa to Noah, Isaac, Abby, Elody, Mack, Remy, Jensen, Annie, Oliver, Mason and Teagan. Predeceased by his parents Harold Bondy (1994) and Edna (Herniman) Bondy (1997). Brother to Carolyn (Les) Thrasher, the late Larey (Joan) (2015), the late Bill (Valerie) (2002), Sharron (Erich) Keller, Linda (Maurice) Hutchins, and Pamela Bondy. Brother-in-law to Gail (Vincent) and Jack Bostin. He will be greatly missed by his nieces, nephews and many friends. Through the years, Jim served his community through his work with various groups and organizations. He was a member of the Harrow Kinsmen Club, Harrow Chamber of Commerce, Harrow United Church AOTS Men’s Club, and held various positions with local minor hockey and baseball. Jim was in the 1958 graduating class of Ridgetown Agricultural College. He held various jobs throughout his adult life and retired from Ford Motor Company in 1998. Jim’s family meant the world to him. He showed up to every game, performance, recital and assembly. He instilled in his family the importance of togetherness and putting family first. His heart must have been tired from loving his family so much. Cremation has taken place. A private memorial service to celebrate Jim’s life will be held at Harrow United Church. Memorial donations may be made by cheque to Harrow United Church or Project Hope Windsor Es. Arrangements entrusted to Gerald A. Smith Funeral Home, 197 King St. W. Harrow.
