WHALEN, James Aug. 3, 1944-Sep. 28, 2020 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jim Whalen, age 76, beloved husband, father, brother and friend, on Monday, Sep. 28, 2020 at the Halifax Infirmary.
Jim grew up in Spryfield NS, marrying his love of 52 years, Jacqueline (Allwright) on June 29th1968. Moving from Toronto to White’s Lake in 1974 and shortly after that, growing their family. He is survived by his eldest son, Jack, daughter Jane (Henley), and son, Jonathan. He was predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Elizabeth (Henderson) and brother Brian. Surviving are his Sister Susan, Halifax. Sister-in-laws; Carolyn (Allwright), Waterloo. Eleanor (Connors), New Waterford. Grandchildren; Jaelyn & Cohen Henley, Parker & Bo Whalen. Nephews; Brian Jr., Peter and Dylan White. Aunts and many cousins.
Jim worked as a refrigeration technician most recently for the DND as a civilian in Halifax at Windsor Park. Jim enjoyed many hobbies and sports. Golfing as a member of Hartlen Point with family and friends. Darts throughout NS namely, Lakeside & White’s Lake Legions. Hunting & Fishing at the family camp in Lake Charlotte. Jim spent many summer vacations in Long Reach, NB with his many cousins, aunts & uncles.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Dartmouth Funeral Home. Jim’s wishes were to be buried in Long Reach NB.
