J. Darrell Gallant
1944 – 2020
Joseph “Darrell” Gallant of Miramichi passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on April 9, 2020 at the age of 75.
Born in Charlottetown, PEI, on July 29, 1944, he was the son of the late Joseph Arthur and Rita (Manuel) Gallant. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Cursillo. He enjoyed coaching softball and he also loved to be an Umpire for Baseball in NB and AB.
Darrell is survived by his son, Brett Gallant (Alison) of Miramichi; two daughters: Shelley Reardon (Matthew) of Moncton and Lori Gallant of Miramichi; nine grandchildren and the mother of his children, Clara Gallant. He was predeceased by his parents and one brother, David.
A PUBLIC visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King Street, Miramichi on Thursday, September 24th, 2020 from 7-9 PM. A PUBLIC Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Michael’s Basilica on Friday, September 25th, 2020 at 11 AM with Father Paul Doucet as Celebrant. Due to provincial COVID-19 regulations, community face coverings and physical distancing are strongly encouraged. Visitors at both the visitation and the funeral are reminded to register attendance upon entrance. Interment will be held in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Michael’s Basilica or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
