Herman John Sullivan
1931 – 2020
It is with great sadness, and a heart full of memories, that we announce the passing of Herman John Sullivan. Surrounded by his loving family, he left his earthly residence, to be welcomed to his Heavenly Home, by his Creator on April 13, 2020.
Born on January 30, 1931 he was the eldest son of the late Myles & Mildred (MacDonald) Sullivan. He found his passion and devoted his life to driving truck, right up until the age of 85. He was the proud owner of Sullivan’s Trucking from 1975 until 2011, and was so happy to have given many young men their first job driving truck.
He leaves behind to mourn, his wife of 71 years, Thelma (Harris) Sullivan; son, Richard (Janice) Sullivan; daughter, Mildred (late Paul) Allison, and daughter, Arlene (Ronald) Locke. He was a proud Poppy to Marsha (Trevor) Hare, Paula (Robert) Curtis, Sarah (Edward) Norman, Amy (Darcy) Manderville, Myles (Stacey Brunet) Sullivan, Marilee Locke and Evan Locke. He was so excited to be a Great-Poppy to Sebastian, Angelica, Eddy, Madison, Allison, Cadence, Allisa and Carter. He was the oldest brother to Austin (Mildred) Sullivan, Hazen (Myrna) Sullivan, Cameron (June) Sullivan. He was a brother-in-law: to Burpee (Olive) Harris, Harold (Norma) Harris and Keith Blakeney. He was a loved uncle to his many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved son, Emerson Gayden, his son-in-law, Paul Allison, his brother and sister-in-law Ronald and Betty Sullivan, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Reginald and Jennie (Harris) Underhill, and sister-in-law Joan (Harris) Blakeney.
Due to the health concerns surround COVID – 19, a funeral and celebration of his life will be held at a later time.
