It is with great sadness that we the family of the late Henry Joseph Parsons announces his peaceful passing at his residence in Port aux Basques, NL, with his loving family by his side on Friday, October 30th, 2020 at the age of 81 years. Born in Cul De Sac West, NL, He was the son of the late Richard and Sarah Parsons (nee Young). He was also predeceased by his father and mother-in-law; Isreal and Marie Anderson, brothers; Arthur (Geraldine) Parsons, William (Mary) Parsons, Gordon Parsons, Harvey Parsons, Jimmy Parsons, sisters; Julia (George) MacDonald, Winnie (Roy) Durnford, brothers-in-law; Bertram Osmond, Dorman Heulin, Wilfred Ricketts, John Harvey and sister-in-law; Sandra Harvey.
He leaves to mourn with a lifetime of fond and loving memories his loving wife of 61 years Winnie Parsons (nee Anderson). He was also leaves behind his son; David (Doris) Parsons of Edmonton, AB, daughter; Kimberly (Paul) Bookholt of Truro, NS, grandchildren; Travis (Kayla) Ryan of Edmonton, AB, Jeffrey (Shawna) Bookholt of Calgary, AB, Amanda Bookholt of Lower Sackville, NS, James Davidson of Edmonton, AB, great-grandchildren; Isabelle Williams of Lower Sackville, NS, Stanley Bookholt of Calgary, AB. Henry also leaves behind sisters-in-law; Jessie Osmond, Bernice (George) Keeping, Joyce Heulin, Eileen Ricketts, Jane (Steward) Anderson, Linda (Rob) Harvey, Viola (Jerome) Bragg, Doris Parsons, Susan Parsons, and brother-in-law; Edward Harvey plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Henry was a handy man who was also known to be the jack of all trades and was the master of many. He loved to go fishing with his buddy Alex, play cards, and he could build anything with his hands that he set his mind too.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, November 1st from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd, at 2 pm from St. James Anglican Church, Channel-Port aux Basques officiated by Rev. Jane Allen. Interment will follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill, TCH, NL. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in memory of Henry can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
