Helen Louise Brown, of Hanover, passed away peacefully at Hanover Care Centre on Wednesday, January 29, 2020. She was 97.
Born on May 6, 1922 in Toronto, Ontario to the late Percy and Merle (nee Srigley) Bullen. Helen was employed at Hanover & District Hospital as a Registered Nurses Assistant and then later in the Material Control Department until retirement. She enjoyed the hard work of farming along side her husband Clifford while raising their children. Hard work was not something she feared and was always eager to lend a hand. Helen was a devoted member of St. Jame’s Anglican Church in Hanover and a member of the Solway Women’s Institute. Remembered for her kind heart and warm smile, she will be remembered by many friends.
Dear mother of Fred (Carolyn) Brown of Elora, Marie (Jim) Hammell of RR#1 Dobbinton, Ruth (Bill) Marissen of Woodstock and Norine (Dennis) Emke of Hanover. Loved grandmother of Chris (Brianne), Sarah (Adam), Lindsay (Matthew), Cheryl (Brent), Steven (Amanda), Scott (Stacey), Tim (Sasha), Janette (Nick), Wesley (Amanda), Jeremy (Alysia), Amy (Todd), Jennifer (Steve), Michael (Ashley). Fond memories will be cherished by great grandchildren Carter, Payton, Cohen, Griffen, Chase, Norah, Declan, Wyatt, Jordan, Cheyanne, Rachel, Ashley, Austin, Madison, Hailey, Ava, Chelsea, Hannah, Benjamin, Jacob, Lucas and Brooklyn. Remembered by her brother Bill Bullen of Walkerton, sisters Lillian Ditchfield of Chatham, Merle Smith of Stratford and sisters in law Shirley Bullen and Inez Noguchi. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her beloved husband Clifford, brothers Henry, Charles, Percy, Roy and her sister Marion Tolton.
Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Sunday, Feburary 2, 2020 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 3, 2020 at 11:30 am at St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Hanover. Rev. JoAnn Todd officiating. Interment in Hanover Cemetery.
Memorial donations to the Hanover Care Centre – Resident’s Council or to the Hanover & District Hospital Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
