It is with great sadness that the family of Hattie Alma Corkum, 94, of Feltzen South, announces her passing on Monday, June 29, 2020 at the Mahone Nursing Home, Mahone Bay.
Born in Feltzen South, Hattie was the daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret (Bolivar) Spindler.
Hattie was a lifetime resident of Feltzen South who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and in earlier years, worked at the fish plant in Riverport and enjoyed spending time at home with family, working in her garden, knitting, times spent with her cats and playing cards and attending bingo with friends.
She was a faithful member of Wesley United Church, Feltzen South and a member of the Mid-Week Group.
Hattie is survived by daughters, Susan Veinot (Leroy), Italy Cross; Patricia (Manfred) Dierks, Feltzen South; son, Keith (Myrtle) Corkum, Cole Harbour; sisters, Frances Creaser, Feltzen South; Thelma Findley, Lower Sackville; grandchildren, Heather Corkum, Robert Corkum, Amanda (Terry) and Lee, great grandchildren, Curtis, Malikah, Nicholas and Josh and great-great granddaughter, Nova-Jean and several nieces and nephews.
Hattie was predeceased by her husband, Cecil, brother, Cecil (Alice) Spindler; and brothers-in-law, Franklyn Creaser and Raymond Findley.
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy. #3, Lunenburg and where a service for immediate family will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Heather Ferrier officiating. Interment will follow at 2:45 for all friends welcomed to attend at the Feltzen South Cemetery, Feltzen South.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to SHAID Tree Animal Shelter, Trinity United Church, or Feltzen South Cemetery.
