Gloria’s Obituary
Cox, Gloria “Goke” Elizabeth (MacKenzie)- age 78, Sandy Point, passed away unexpectedly in the early morning of September 5, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Gloria was born on March 5, 1942 at the Ideal Maternity Home in West Chester, Nova Scotia. Gloria was the chosen child of the late Archibald and Pearl Mackenzie. She was raised along with her sister Donna in Lockeport. Gloria loved spending time with her many fur babies, she enjoyed spoiling and cooking for them. She was fond of gardening and anything she stuck in the ground would grow. She left behind a hell of a lot of stuff to her 5 children who have no idea what to do with it. Maybe they could return some of it to her favourite store “Shelburne Furniture”. She will forever be remembered for her quick witty and sharp tongue, however, we are forever grateful that she was our mother. Gloria is survived by her 5 children, Donna Darcy, Margaret Pearl (Mario), Ralph Napoleon (Belinda), James Edward (Jimmy), Yan Franklin (Val); grandchildren, Meghan, Denika, Brett, Abigail, Camron; great-grandchildren, Dario, Aria, Averie, Steven(fur baby). She was predeceased by her husband, Henry Cox, stepson, Dennis Cox, sister Donna MacKenzie, grandson Jacey Cox and her closest companion Beth Williams. There will be a visitation on Sunday, September 13 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. in H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne followed by a memorial service at 3:00 pm with Rev. Ed Trevors officiating.
