Giuseppina Romano
We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and all-round beloved friend, Giuseppina Romano, on December 20, 2020 at the age of 91 years. She passed suddenly and unexpectedly with both of her loving granddaughters by her side.
Giuseppina was a proud Italian, born in Simbario, Italy. She immigrated to Canada with her husband Bruno in the 1950’s. Together they created a better life and started a family in Edmonton.
Giuseppina loved cooking, was a wonderful hostess and always served exceptional food. Many years were marked by her infamous family dinners where spending time with family was always cherished.
Giuseppina is survived by her son Antonio Romano; brothers, Bruno Tassone (Elizabeth), Vito Tassone (Graziella) and Antonio Tassone (Assunta); grandchildren, Venessa Romano-Ravina (Rod), Sheena Romano and Riccardo Romano; great-grandchildren, Brianna, Aaliyah, Marco and Nico; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Predeceased by her husband, Bruno Romano; son, Domenico Romano; parents, Domenico Tassone and Maria “Elizabetta” Tassone; siblings, Frank Tassone, Rosa Tassone, Teresa Cutulle, Provvidenza “Enza” Russomano and nephew, Adriano Tassone.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 29, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.at Park Memorial Funeral Home. Those wishing to attend the viewing are asked to register at bit.ly/giuseppinaromano
