Geralyn Reid RN

We, the family regret to announce the passing of Geralyn Ann Reid, RN. Geralyn died peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones, on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Born in North Sydney on August 25, 1956, she was the daughter to Theresa (Boudreau) and the late Austin Reid. Geralyn graduated from St. Rita’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1992 and was employed as an RN for several years at the Northside Community Guest Home. She was a kind and gentle person. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney.
Besides her mother Theresa Reid, Geralyn is also survived by her partner Michael Moore, her daughters Julie (Andy) Green and Maryanne Finney (Jamie Nuttall), her grandchildren Luke, Mya, Sundra and Suri. She is also survived by her sister Joan (Roland) Skinner and brothers Ronnie (Jeannie) and Darren (Maureen), several nieces and nephews, aunts, sisters-in-law Leona Reid and Donna Conrad, and many friends. Also leaving to grieve are Michael’s mother Rodina, step-son Greg and step-daughter Michelle and all the Moore family.
Geralyn was predeceased by her father Austin, her brothers Terrance (infant), Ray and Audie, nephew Joey Reid, as well as her grandparents Joseph and Julia Reid, Raymond and Gertrude Boudreau.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions there will be no visitation or service at this time. A funeral mass will be held at a later date at St. Joseph Church under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. Burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney.
