It is with broken hearts that we let family and friends know that Gary passed away on October 17, 2020, after a brief terminal illness. He died quietly and comfortably with his adoring wife, Joan by his side, and his daughters’ prayers in his heart. He is survived by his wife, Joan; his daughters, Heather Lee (Kent) and Tammy Lee (Trent); and Tammy’s daughter, Mackenzie Lee-Denomme.
Gary was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB and joined the Hudson’s Bay Northern Stores after completing high school. He was assistant manager and manager in many remote locations in northern Saskatchewan and Ontario. He married his beautiful wife Joan in 1974. After leaving the Hudson’s Bay Company he continued in retail for many years. He was delighted by the birth of his daughters, Heather and Tammy, of whom he was very proud. In 1988, Gary and family moved to St. Paul, where he soon created, owned and operated Perfect Air Furnace and Duct Cleaning with great enjoyment and success. He was also a proud retired member of the St. Paul Fire Department.
Gary will be greatly missed by his wife, daughters, and beautiful granddaughter, Mackenzie. He also leaves behind his sister, Donna Friesen (Steve); sister-in-law, Dianne Wilson (Woody); brother-in-law, Dwayne Mumby (Judy); numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his nephew, Dan Dorward of Winnipeg, MB; parents, Lloyd and Irene Lee of Winnipeg, MB; and parents-in-law, Bob and Evelyn Mumby of St. Brieux, SK.
