Frances «Fan» Selby
1926-2020
It is with great sadness that we
announce the passing of Frances «Fan»
Charlotte Selby, 94, of Port Elgin, and formerly of
Cape Tormentine, NB, at the Westford Nursing Home on Tuesday, December
8, 2020.
Born in Beach Point, PEI, Frances was a daughter of the
late Montford and Mary (MacIntosh) Herring.
Fan loved having company. Her home was always open for
anyone who wished to drop in and there would always be someone
visiting. She
enjoyed knitting and playing cards and was deeply devoted to spending
time with her friends and family.
Fan will be dearly missed by her two
sons, Frank (Pat),
Summerside, PE and Scott (Carol), Cape Tormentine; seven
grandchildren, Todd (Angela) Selby, Frank Selby, Jana Selby, Peggy
(Joe) Dunville, Kent (Kelly) Dunville, Corey (Hayley) Selby and Julie
(John) Farrell; thirteen great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Donna
Herring, Ada Herring and Arlene Herring; a brother-in-law, Gordon
Peardon, as well as several nieces and nephews and extended
family.
Besides her parents, Fan was predeceased
by her husband, Frank; a daughter Barbara Ann; a grandson, Paul; five
brothers, Louis, Hilton, Stranberg, Allan, and Laurie and six sisters,
Louise Cahoon, Marceline Blackett, Una Martin, Catherine Skerry, Wells
MacGlashing and Jean Peardon.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of Jones Funeral Home. A time of visitation will be
held from their Port Elgin location, 3 West Main Street,
(506-364-1300) from 2-4 pm on Saturday, December 12, 2020. Please bring your masks and
respect social distancing guidelines. A graveside service for Fan
will be announced at a later date in the spring.
The family wishes to extend their
sincere appreciation to the staff of the Countryside Residence, Port
Elgin and the Westford Nursing home for their wonderful compassion and
care of Fan.
Donations in memory of Fan may be made
to the IWK Foundation or a charity of the donor’s
choice.
