Memorial Donation
Esther Alice Lockhart
Passed away Friday January 24, 2020 at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital in Oakville, Ontario. Predeceased by her husband Laurie. Beloved mother to Gregg (Susan), Eloise (Drew Wallace), and Marilyn (Brian Tutte), grandmother to six and great grandmother to nine.
“Toddy” was adored by her 11 older (Seifred) siblings all of whom predeceased her. Cherished by her many wonderful friends over the years, including cottage, bridge and curling friends.
A charming, beautiful, sweet, positive soul whose favourite song was “What a Wonderful World” sung by Louis Armstrong. Our dear Mom was a beacon of joy and love. Live in the moment, we learned by her example. Bright, gracious, fun and engaged right until the last. Born and raised in Winnipeg where she met Laurie, they lived in several cities around Canada. Esther and Laurie shared many happy retirement years between their cottage at Lake MacDonald, Quebec, and their home in London, Ontario. Esther lived in Oakville after Laurie’s passing. She will be terribly missed but always said, don’t be sad for her as she had a wonderful life.
Donations in memory of Esther may be made to the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington, Ontario (rbg.ca 905-527-1158) whose gardens brought Esther so much pleasure over the years, or to the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (haltonhealth.ca 905-845-2571) whose remarkable staff were there for her whenever she needed them.
