Obituary
Edith Norma Carrick (Creasor), eldest child of the late Edith (Widdifield & Wilfred Creasor of Ullswater, Muskoka. Born in Bracebridge, Ontario on Tues. November 3, 1925.
Norma saw her own life as being very memorable. She was Martriarch of both the Carrick and Creasor clan. Being such a pleasant, positive person, she had a very great influence on everyone she met and they were very much encouraged in their own lives by her embracement.
Brief Highlights of Norma’s life – November 3, 1925
Eldest Child of Edith and Wilfred Creasor and grew up on farm on Deebank Road., Ullswater, Muskoka
Attended Public School Gr 1-9 in Ullswater
Attended Uxbridge High School as no buses in Muskoka at Grandparents gracious invite.
Graduated as an Elementary Teacher at Toronto Normal School, following in mother’s footsteps.
At 18 (1944) first teaching position Black River in Rama Township., a one-room school with 35 students
August 15, 1946, married Clayton Carrick, and lived on farm homestead for six years. Barbara, Marlene and Dawn (deceased) were born while there.
1952, purchased 200 acre farm at Dungannon, east of Orillia near Udney.
Jocelyn was born that year and I paid for replacement teacher from my meager salary for the three weeks off.
Nathaniel, Shelby, Carol and Michele followed.
We raised horses, cows, pigs and chickens as well as hay and grain.
Teaching career: Mara Township (Dungannon, Mud Lake, Uptergrove, Udney) Last 20 years Gravenhurst Public School.
1976 – Husband, Clayton passed away from an Aortic Aneurysm and was buried at Ramona Cemetery on our 30th Wedding Anniversary.
1984 – Retired from teaching.
Travelling – Canada’s East to West Coast, USA and Barbados.
Trustee (Elder) and Member of United Church and have enjoyed church family (Windermere, Uxbridge, Washago, Udney and Gravenhurst)
Hobbies – Designing and sewing wedding/bridesmaid dresses for children’s events. Baking and decorating wedding cakes; playing piano/keyboard with Old Tyme dance bands in
Brothers/Nephew’s band.
Active member of Retired Teachers of Muskoka and enjoyed friendships across the Province.

Grandchildren: Bruce (Linda), Bradley (Tammy), Sherri (Earl); Darren (Lori), Jason (Kelly), Jeremy (Michelle), Aimee; Sean (Amy); Shannon (Ernesto), Dwight (Kory); Adam, Erin (Blake), Danielle (Joel); Melanie (Wesley), Matthew; Blake, Joshua.
Great Grandchildren: Devon, Mitchell, Mark, Julie; Jordan, Brody, Sydney, Brenden, Terra, Rachel, Leanne, Cassandra, Jayden, Amber, Hannah, Cadence, Austen, Noah, Emery, Onyx, Charlie, Chelsea, Callie, Leland, Mason, Addison, Chael, Finn, Wren, Abigail, Emily.
Great Great Grandchildren: Olivia, Sonya, Keira, Gavin, Jacob, Maeve, Dallas, Tyler, Tyson, Ariel
Siblings: the late Grant Creasor (Frances), the late Joyce and Jack Ralph, the late Errol Creasor (Stella), the late Phyllis and Ken Olson, Jim Creasor (Susan), Wilfred Creasor (Sheila), the late Gary Creasor (Sally and Mario Ricci), Roger Creasor (Peggy).
