Begley, Donald Herbert “Don” Born on January 9, 1937 in Windsor, and passed away peacefully with his loving daughter by his side on June 28, 2020 at the age of 83. Predeceased by his parents Herbert and Reta Begley. Loving father of Darren, Dean and Melissa Begley. Cherished grandfather of Justin and Grayson Begley. Predeceased by his siblings Nelson, Frank and Susan. Don was predeceased by his former wife Shirley Begley (2013). Don was a dedicated employee with General Motors and retired after more than 30 years of service. He had a love of baseball and hockey and a was an avid Detroit Tigers and Toronto Maple Leafs fan. Playing baseball was his passion in his younger years, he was a back catcher who was almost drafted to the Major Leagues until an injury made that impossible. He was a Snowbird who enjoyed his home in Florida. Don loved war planes and was an avid stamp collector and a big follower of the stock market. He was a dedicated family man and he loved giving to others, whether it was family or organizations who needed donations. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Road, East, 519-254-7234 on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 from 11:00am until the time of funeral service in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Victoria Memorial Gardens. PLEASE NOTE: Masks are required prior to entering the facilities and must be worn at all times. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.windsorchapel.com
