Obituary of David Edward Haley, New Waterford
David Edward Haley passed away Oct. 3, 2020 surrounded by loved ones peacefully at home.
He is predeceased by his wife, Irene (Labobe); brother, Richard and mother, Bertha.
David is survived by his father, Edward; sisters, Linda (Joe) Pasher and Faith (Murray) Buck; brother, John (Joanne); nieces and nephews who loved him.
David lived a life full of giving and kindness. He had a sign business in New Waterford and then moved to P.E.I. There, he married Irene where he volunteered and supported Lennox Island church and community. He was also proud to work with the Band Council and Archeology Society of Lennox Island. David was a 4th Degree member of the K.O.C.
He retired five years ago, moved to Cape Breton and lived with his sister, Faith. He loved flower design and returned to do that when he retired in New Waterford.

Also to Palliative Care, Dr. Abboud, Dr. Saliba and the Cancer Centre at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, VON and Home Care. Thank you also to special friend, Barbara Brown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice/Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton or Canadian Cancer Society.
Cremation has taken place under the care and guidance of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, New Waterford. As per David’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at: www.vjmcgillivray.ca.
