David Cockerill, beloved son of Geraldine “Lynda” Cockerill and the Late David Jack Cockerill, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at the age of 45 years.
DJ was born in Stewart, British Columbia on December 12, 1974. He moved to Fort Mc Murray in 1975. He moved, lived and worked in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in the year 1992.
DJ graduated from Van Horne High School in 1994. DJ worked for Viper Concrete. He accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of his woodworking and the many buildings he worked on in Calgary. DJ had a passion for hiking, hunting swimming, fishing and any dog particularly his dog Fred. Fred was interned with David Cockerill and will soon be joined by DJ.
DJ’s most memorable vacation was traveling with family, across Canada and the USA.
DJ’s favorite saying was “check this out!” He will be most remembered for his laughter, his pranks and his soft heart and love for his family.
DJ is survived by his Mom Lynda; brother, Brad Armstrong (Rachel); sister, Tammy Rioux (Serge); brother, Chad Armstrong, and sister Tanis Parsons, (Jamie).
DJ’s nieces and nephews include Zana Korpan, (Matthew) & Dominic Rioux (Kyla); Samantha Armstrong (Mike) and Jessica Armstrong; Tristan Cockerill, Elora & Skylar Parsons and his great nephews Gabriel and Vincent Korpan. He leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins from his Cockerill & Contois family (John and Wayne).
