Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dale Frances (Clements) McCarthy on July 7, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Dale was born in Saint John, NB on August 10, 1950 to the late Gordon and Beatrice (Speight) Clements and was the loving wife of 49 years to husband, Ronald McCarthy who passed away a year ago.
Faith and being faithful defined Dale’s life. She was an active member of All Saints Anglican church, and following its closure became an active member of St. Mary and St. Bartholomew’s Anglican Church. Dale was a very loving and kind woman who never had a bad thing to say about anyone, and you would be hard pressed to find someone who had a bad word to say about her. She always said that she was blessed, but her family felt that they were the ones who were blessed to have her in their lives. She was very patient and positive, and tried to instill those values in her children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother, a great mother-in-law and a very devoted Nanny to all of her grandchildren. She lived a full life, but she was taken far too soon and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children, Gavin (Julie), Jason (Sherry) and Sheri; 6 grandchildren, Navarre, Andre, Madeleine, Jacob, Molly and Meghan; siblings, Judy, Robbie (Janice), Danny (Donna), Ricky (Annette) and Roxanne (Danny); sister-in-law, Anne Clements, as well as brothers and sisters-in-law, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother Donnie Clements, her sister Tammy Dort and other sisters and brothers-in-law.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8pm. Staff will be available at the main entrance of the funeral home to assist guests with social distancing measures when they arrive. Please note that physical distancing restrictions will be observed during the gathering. As a result of COVID restrictions, a private family funeral service will be celebrated for Dale on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at St. Mary and St. Bartholomew’s Anglican Church for invited guests however friends and those unable to attend will be able to view the funeral service online at smsbchurch.com/. For those who wish, donations to her home church in her memory or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by her family.
