OBITUARY FOR BRENDA VERONICA HYACYNTH COGGINS
Brenda Veronica Hyacinth Coggins died peacefully at her home in Montreal, QC on November 9, 2020. She was born on November 21, 1941 in Georgetown, Guyana to the late Edward Coggins and Hermine Ivy Coggins both of Guyana. She is predeceased by her sister Judith Coggins (Ottawa, Canada). She is survived by her siblings Percy Coggins (Georgetown, Guyana,) Patrick Coggins (DeLand, Florida,) and Colin Coggins (Hartford, Connecticut.) Brenda also leaves to mourn numerous nieces and nephews including great nieces and nephews as well as her beloved God children.
Brenda completed her high school education at Trust High School. Shortly after, she began working as a teacher in Georgetown, Guyana. She then moved to Canada where she continued her studies by attending Concordia University, Montreal, Canada where she completed her Bachelor degree and Master Degree with honors. She worked at Bombardier (Formerly Canadair) Corporation for a number of years and moved up the ranks to Senior Management which enabled her to travel all over the world as a part of a team that engaged in extensive communications with NATO Countries.
Despite her numerous accomplishments, Brenda will best be remembered for her warm personality, computer like memory, spiritual advising and outstanding problem-solving skills. She was also a kind-hearted soul that shared her resources in helping people attain positive outcomes. Her family members and close friends will also remember her for her caring nature, integrity, straight forwardness and as someone who truly believed in helping others. There were several projects that she personally financed and supported that helped disadvantaged individuals in both Canada and Guyana. Brenda viewed her family as a source of joy. It was important for her to spend time and keep in contact with her siblings, nephews, nieces, god children and friends alike. They each will remember the good times spent with Brenda and will miss her dearly.
