Obituary of Catherine Marie Cummings
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Cathy Cummings, beloved partner of Walter Wilson, announces her passing which occurred on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born in Saint John on February 17, 1960, she was a daughter of the late Gordon “Red” and M. Dorothy “Dot” (Doiron) Cummings.
Though petite in stature, Cathy carried herself with a large well of inner strength. She loved dogs, and most of hers were larger than she was. She was an avid gameshow fan and enjoyed playing SPCA radio bingo on Country 94.
Cathy will be missed by her partner of 35 years Walter; siblings Vicki Cummings Wilkes (Samuel) and Gordon Cummings Jr.; niece Dominique and nephew Alex; and her german shepherd, Lightning.
In addition to her parents, Cathy was predeceased by a sister Deborah Cummings.
Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Rd. Saint John, NB (634-7425) with visitation on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Guests are asked to enter the funeral home using the front entrance, where staff will greet and assist you with Covid-19 protocol. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 12:00 pm from Brenan’s Bay View Chapel.
