It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carolyn Ann (Patterson) McCandless on Thursday, October 22, 2020. Carol, the girl up the street, who became the lifetime partner and best friend to her husband Gary James McCandless, passed away peacefully at the Renfrew Victoria Hospital in her 78th year, surrounded by the love of her family, in the early morning hours. Carol was born in Sudbury, Ontario on April 23rd, 1942, loving mother of son David McCandless and daughter Dana McCandless. Carol will also be warmly remembered by her granddaughter Sarah Catherine Lee McCandless, great grandson Greyson McCandless and goddaughter Karlene McCandless.
Carol is predeceased by her parents Catherine (McQuillan) and Clifford Allister Patterson and brothers Clifford Arnold Patterson and William “John” McQuillan Patterson.
The family would like to thank Dr. A. De Jesus, Dr. S. Nemani and the nursing and support staff at RVH for the outstanding and compassionate care provided to Carolyn over her last few years and hours of her life with us.
Professional services have been entrusted to the care of Zohr Family Funeral Home, Renfrew. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Renfrew Victoria Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
She was a great friend, and a remarkable woman with a beautiful heart. She had a good sense of humour, loved a good joke…. but not her husband’s! She will be forever missed by everyone whose life she touched. Until we meet again, Anam Cara.
