With sadness, we announce the passing of Carmela on October 26, 2020 at the age of 95. Predeceased by her beloved husband Giuseppe (January 10, 2001). Cherished mother of Eddie (Filomena) and proud nonna of Stephanie (Tom) and Sandra. She will be missed by her sisters Diletta, Giselda and Maria and is predeceased by her brother Angelo. Zia Carmela will be remembered by her nieces and nephews and their families.
Relatives and friends are welcomed to Bernardo Funeral Homes (2960 Dufferin St., South of Lawrence Ave.) on Thursday, October 29, 2020 from 9 – 11 a.m. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Please note, that due to the COVID-19 Pandemic restrictions and social distancing requirements, for the visitation, the funeral home must conform to 30% occupancy capacity. Visitors may need to wait to enter the funeral home in order to maintain the capacity requirement. Face masks are mandatory and contact tracing information will be collected upon entering the building.
A private entombment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Due to the limited number of people allowed in the mausoleums, only the immediate family members will attend the services at the cemetery.
In memory of Carmela, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
