Carlos
Lima Couto peacefully passed away on December 5 2020 in his home
surrounded by his family in his 68th year, after his courageous battle
against cancer.
Beloved husband of Grace (nee Arruda) for 31 years.
Loving father of Jessica (Kyle), and devoted step-father of Debbie
(Joshua), and Kelly (Boris). Proud grand-father of Eric, Isabella,
Justin, and Daniel. Cherished brother of
Conceição (the late José),
Natália (Umberto), and José Manuel (Helena).
Carlos will also be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews,
great-nieces and nephews, extended family and friends near and
far.
Born in Ribeira Quente, São Miguel,
Açores on May 28, 1952, then immigrated to Canada in 1989.
Carlos was a strong and hardworking automechanic with an admiration
for cars from a young age. He loved to fish, boat, and swim in the
ocean of his coastal hometown. He was a passionate Benfica fan who
enjoyed the simple things in
life.
Carlos’ firm faith in the Holy Spirit led him as a
Director of the Cambridge Portuguese Micaelense Charity Organization
throughout his years in Canada, where he dedicated his time in
celebration of his cultural and religious
traditions.
Our sincere and heartfelt thanks goes out to the
palliative care team who provided the most exceptional support and
guidance throughout this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer
Society would be appreciated by the family in his
honour.
Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas Street,
Cambridge, where the family will receive friends on Tuesday December
8, 2020 from 6-9p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St.
Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church., Cambridge on Wednesday
December 9, 2020 at 1p.m. Interment to follow at Parklawn Cemetery.
Provincial Guidelines are in place for social distancing and Masks are
mandatory for each person in attendance. To reserve your 15
minutes to meet with the family at the Funeral Home or attend the
Funeral Mass (Space is limited), please call the Funeral Home
