It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Calvin Day of Garnish announces his passing. Calvin passed away at the Blue Crest Nursing Home in Grand Bank on Tuesday, October 20th, 2020, at the age of 82. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his sons, Robert (Joann) of Sturgeon County, AB, Scott (Caroline) of Edmonton, AB, Colin of Garnish; 2 grandchildren Greg May (Ashley) of Frenchman’s Cove and Brandon Day of Sturgeon County, AB; 3 great-grandchildren, Landon, Parker and Remi; brother Boyd Day (Rosalie) of Garnish; sister, Shirley Day of Garnish; mother-in-law, Louise Cluett; sisters-in-law, Jean Hollett and Gertie Spencer; plus a large circle of extended family and friends.
Calvin was predeceased by wife Florence Day; parents Charles and Elizabeth Day; brother Jarvis Day; father-in-law Herbert Cluett; brothers-in-law, Don Hollett, Jack Spencer.
The Day Family will be accepting visitors at Wiseman’s Funeral Home – Burin, NL. In order to maintain social distancing and to follow the public health advisory of COVID 19, a public walk through visitation will take place on Friday, Oct 25th, 2020 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Saturday, Oct 24th, 2020 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
Following COVID 19 guidelines, there will be no food or beverages accepted at the funeral home.
Funeral Service of Remembrance will take place from Wiseman’s Funeral Home, Burin, NL on Sunday, Oct 25th, 2020 at 2:00pm. Due to limited capacity because of the COVID–19 restrictions, for anyone wishing to attend, please contact the funeral home to add you name to the contact tracing sheet.
Interment to follow at Garnish United Church Cemetery. In Calvin’s memory donations may be made to The Day Family or Garnish United Church.
