Hilda Buzenus, 92, of Salem Manor, Leduc passed away peacefully Friday, November 27, 2020, daughter of Emil and Ottilie Senft of Calmar, sister to Emil (Lorraine), Ann (Don), Elsbeth and Gerhardt (Eileen).
Hilda married the late Ronald Buzenus of Ellerslie in 1949. They continued to farm and raise 4 children Ron (Renata), Brian (Laurie), Dwayne (Judy), and Diane (Ernie). Hilda was predeceased by her husband Ron in 1971, daughters-in-law Judy 1985 and Pat 2008. Hilda is survived by 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Hilda was a wonderful cook, often inviting extras to the supper table. She baked for family and community events and everyone enjoyed the vegetables from her large garden. Her rubber boots were ready by the door to dash out and get something fresh. Hilda loved curling and organizing community events. There was always a knitting or crocheting project beside her chair and her day was complete if she went for a drive in her 2-door car to visit some family or friends.
Living on her acreage until she was 85, Hilda was an independent lady with a soft heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bouncing on her knee to Yankee Doodle gave them all the giggles. Always supportive and encouraging, she loved their hugs, pictures, visits and achievements. Hilda was proud of them all.
With the passing of our Mother, Gramma and Oma, we will miss her quiet strength, patience, tender but firm hands and mostly her smile.
There will be a graveside service at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
The family is sincerely grateful to the staff at Salem Manor for their loving care and compassion. They were truly a part of Hilda’s extended family.
