Veldboom: William John «Bill» –
A resident of Chatham, Bill Veldboom passed away at the Riverview Gardens with family at his side on Sunday, February 23, 2020 one day short of his 94th birthday.
Born in Aalten, The Netherlands, Bill was the son of the late Bernard and Johanna (Ruessink) Veldboom.
Beloved husband of 67 years to Joanne (nee Lankhof).
Loving father of Margaret Pilon (Bill) of Chatham, Bill Veldboom (Linda) of Holland, MI and the late Donna Veldboom (1977).
Proud Grandpa to Scott Pilon, Lisa Parker, Brent Pilon (Melissa), Kevin Pilon (April), Sarah Pilon; Lauren Veldboom and Lien Veldboom.
Great-Grandpa to Cole, Justin, Dylan and Eric Parker and Abigail, Jasper, Penelope and Griffin Pilon.
Dear brother to Arnold Veldboom (Jenny) of Chatham and John Veldboom (Rita). Predeceased by his siblings, Johann Veldboom, Bernard Veldboom and Grada Louwerse.
Bill worked and retired from Navistar after many years of service.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday, February 27, 2020 from 10:00 am until the Funeral Service at 11:00 am with Pastor Nate Van Denend officiating. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
