Obituary for Bill Soney
Billy Brian Soney, a member of Walpole Island First Nation, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at the age of 59. Bill is the beloved husband of Michele Soney. Loving father of Bronson, Tosonna, Kala (Bill), Jordan (Anne), Clarissa (Cap), Lateisha and Keaton Soney and Delson Wright. Dear grandfather of Arionna, Rance, Caroline, Azlynn, Billy, Heaven, Daxon, Gage and Kase. Brother of Shirley McKnight (Jim), Dave (Steph), Clifford (Dana), Lynn and P.J. Soney and Nancy Diaz De Leon (Phil) and the late Virginia Henry (late Brian). Bill was a member of the Carpenters Union Local #1067 and worked in construction, building houses on Walpole Island, pile driving for Peats Marine Construction and building and repairing bridges, notably the Mackinac Bridge, Bluewater Bridge, Ambassador Bridge and Sarnia Tunnel. A private family funeral and burial in Highbanks Cemetery will be held. The HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
