Barbara Elizabeth Warren (McNeill)
On Thursday, September 3rd, 2020, Barbara Elizabeth Warren (nee McNeill) «Barb / Aunt Barb / Babs / Nana» to the lucky that knew her – passed away peacefully in the company of her family. She died with the strength, grace and beauty that she embodied in life. She is survived by her husband, Edward (Ted/Teddy/Uncle Ted/Papa), her children, John, Jeremy (Dee), Shauna (Brian), and Katy (Earl), and grandchildren Weston and Auston Graham, Sarah and Lauren McKibbin, and Kalen and Reid Warren, her sister Carol (John) Gibbon of Co. Wexford, Ireland, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son in law, Chris (Katy), and parents, Douglas “Dodd” and Elizabeth “Bess” (nee Bell) McNeill of Tullow, Co. Carlow, Wexford, Ireland. Barbara and Ted met in Ireland and immigrated to Toronto, then put down strong roots in the Kemptville area. They were married at Christ Church in Burritts Rapids, Ontario in 1960, and together opened the Edward J W Warren Law Office. Barb was an active member of her community, volunteering and supporting many organizations such as the Kemptville Public Library, the Recreation Committee, the Kemptville District Hospital, and the Altar Guild at St. James. Throughout her life she developed many deep and enduring friendships and will be sadly missed by many. Barbara was devoted to her husband, children and friends. She spent the last few weeks surrounded by her children, laughing and making memories that will last a lifetime. We may never look upon a thunderstorm the same way again. In lieu of flowers, please support the Beth Donovan Hospice, Dundas Manor, Kemptville District Hospital, the Canadian Cancer society, or a community organization of your choice.
