Obituary of Arthur H. Quinlan
Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family, Arthur Henry Quinlan, at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Medical Care Center at the age of 76 years on April 28th, 2020. Predeceased by his parents, Pierce and Madeline Quinlan, infant brother, Rex, and sister, Violet.
Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 54 years, Minnie (nee Blake); three children, Rex (Kim), Jean (Paul), and Clyde (Dale); five grandchildren, Tim (Dana), Tiffany (Justin), Taylor (Donovan), Kristen (Brianna), and Savannah (Blake); and two great grandchildren, Clark and Owen; siblings Joseph (Bessie), Burt (Millie), Gwen, Louise (Gilles), Sterling, and Bruce; in-laws Jane, Mary, Frank (Pheobe), Eva (Baxter) and Vera; and many nieces and nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends.
Arthur gave his heart to the Lord in April 2003 and was a faithful member of the Calvary Pentecostal Church in Baytona until his sickness prevented it. Arthur was a very hard worker from a very young age building his own successful logging, firewood and sawmilling business until retiring at the age of 59.
He loved to lobster fish in the spring and continued until the age of 70 when his illness prevented it. Arthur and Minnie enjoyed several years of their retirement together by berry picking, camping, cutting firewood, boating, ATV’ing, a trip to Israel, and getting together for music with friends.
Arthur was a loving father, taking time to teach his children to be hard workers and the value of spending time with family. Arthur loved spending time with his grandchildren. Arthur will be sadly missed but is rejoicing in Heaven. Absent from the body, present with the Lord.
A private family visitation will take place from Families Funeral Home in Lewisporte. Interment will take place at the Pentecostal Cemetery in Baytona.
Donations in his honour may be made to the Missions Fund of Birchy Bay Pentecostal Church. The family would like to say a special thank-you to the staff of the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Care Center.
