Arlene Karen Salyzyn 2020

Arlene passed away on October 5, 2020 at the Edmonton General Hospital.
She was predeceased by her parents (Hans, birth mother Betty, and stepmother Olive).
Arlene will be lovingly remembered by her husband Ron; daughters Lisa and Amy (Jena); grandchildren Malcolm and Miles; siblings Ken (Doreen), Rick (Cindy), Clayton (Anita) and Craig (Lila); brother-in-law Bob and sister-in-law Diane; numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
Arlene was born in 1949 to Hans and Betty Vest. She grew up in Calahoo along with her brothers, Clayton and Craig. After graduating from Camila High School in Riviere Que Barre she moved to Edmonton, staying with her Uncle Pete and Aunt Alice for two years while attending secretarial course at NAIT. Over the years she worked as an administrative assistant for manufacturing company, stockbrokers, lawyers and municipal government.
Arlene married Ron Salyzyn on September 26, 1970. After living in Edmonton for a little over one year they bought their first home and moved to Sherwood Park. They raised two daughters, Lisa and Amy.
Ron and Arlene did a bit of traveling with Hawaii being Arlene’s favorite spot. Both Ron and Arlene loved their visits to Ottawa to see Amy and her family.
In honor of Arlene, donations can be made to the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton.
