Russell, Annie Alice – It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Annie Alice (Eisan) Russell, age 79, on March 31, 2020 at her home in Ship Harbour, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Sheet Harbour, she was the eldest daughter of the late Ronald and Dorothy (Lowe) Eisan.
Annie Alice is survived by her loving husband, Donnie. Sixty-one years of partnership; building their home, family and businesses all while contributing to the well-being of the community.
She leaves behind her children, Diane (Rick) Nilsen; Donna (Peter) Levy; and Dennis Russell; grandchildren, Brandon, Kale, Kayleene and Kenzie; siblings, Nita Sharpe, Charlotte (Albert) Connors, and Kevin Eisan. She was predeceased by siblings, Ronnie in infancy, Fred, and Christine Eddy.
The community will remember Annie Alice through her work as a bookkeeper for the family boat building and firewood businesses for over 45 years. She could keep the books, but more importantly, she could recall even the most minute detail, a testament to her dedication to everything she did. She was a proud homemaker throughout her life. Family and friends will remember her thoughtful gifts of delicious baked goods, tasty preserves, bottles of homemade wine, beautifully hand-knit socks, hats and mittens. She truly enjoyed the company of family and friends, while never passing up the opportunity to play a good game of cards.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. Respecting coronavirus precautions, the family will hold a Celebration of Life when it is safe to gather. In recognition of the exceptional care Mom received, we would appreciate that any memorial donations be made to Twin Oaks Hospital Foundation.
We wish to express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Natasha McInnis, QEII Hematology Clinic, Twin Oaks Hospital staff, Palliative Care and Home Care teams. We are thankful for the all of the kindness, care, love and support that was shown to Mom and our family over the past few months by family, friends and the community.
