Obituary of Alfred Jenks
Alfred Roy Jenks was born July 02, 1963. He made a fast entrance into this world, so fast that he was actually delivered at home on July 01 but by the time they reached the hospital it was the 2nd.
Al will always be remembered for his quick sense of humor and love of pranks. His love of redneck humor could be seen in his collection of Jeff Foxworthy videos, and his “unique” mobiles of empty bean cans and rusty tools.
His collection of witty T-shirts will always be remembered by the staff, residents and visitors of the Menno Home, I’m sure.
Al was predeceased by his parents Floyd and Hilda (Harder) Jenks, and survived by his sisters Lee (Mike Manix and son Melvin Manix), MaryAnne Jenks, Elizabeth Jenks (Bernie Prebushewski) and children Dylan Brandt, Carlyn Brandt, stepson Ryley Prebushewski, his wife Kelcie and their son Asher.
When Al was in his early twenties, he took a job as custodian at Green Valley Highschool, and soon thereafter started having symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease.
Before Al reached the age of 30, he had to stop working due to the advancement of his Parkinson’s. He lived with his parents until they passed away.
For the past decade, the Grunthal Menno Home became his home. He was well cared for and loved by the staff. He genuinely felt at home there. He will be missed by family, friends and the staff at Menno Home.
Alfred is finally free to walk and talk as he wishes.
