Adrian John Martin 1928-2020
It is with great sadness that the family of Adrian John “AJ” Martin announces his passing on October 29th 2020 at the age of 92 years. AJ passed away peacefully at the Rising Sun Long Term Care in Blackdiamond, after saying his final goodbyes to his 3 kiddos.
He is now dancing with his beloved wife of 44 years, Rosie, who passed away in 2013. Left to cherish his memory are his twin daughters Jennifer and Monique (Gary) and his golden son Wil. His grandchildren Jessica, Matthew, Ruby, Zachary, Joseph and Ben will all miss his fun-loving presence.
Uncle Jonny will also be remembered and truly missed by many of his nieces and nephews. He was the last of 10 children born in Radville, Saskatchewan in 1928 to William and Ermeline Martin. He now joins all his siblings and parents in heaven.
Family and friends will miss his humor, his storytelling, his kindness and his generosity. He was always there when you needed a helping hand. He truly was a man of service and honour. When his duties at home were fulfilled, he would find somewhere to help in his community. This led him to serve at the 18th Scout Hall long enough to become a Life Member. There was, however, always time to kludge together his latest contraptions in his backyard and garage.
AJ was the biggest fan at all his grandchildren’s sporting events. Nothing brought AJ more joy then spending time with his children and grandchildren.
A special thank you to the staff at Rising Sun Long Term Care for their loving care and support these last few years but mostly during his final days.
A private funeral service will be held at Saint Michael Catholic Community Church this Monday, November 9, 2020.
