Obituary for Sandra Gudz
On December 25, 2019 at Bluewater Health in Sarnia, Sandra Emily Gudz (nee Dodds) passed away peacefully in her sleep. Beloved wife to Ed for 50 years. Loving mother to Jonathan (Yuka) Gudz, Garret (Joanne Graham) Gudz, Amanda Pieraldi (nee Gudz). Proud grandma to Shogo and Kento, Micah and Camilo. Dear sister to Carole Nixon, Betty Low-Clarke and much loved daughter-in-law to “Nanee” Ollie Gudz. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her parents, Edward and Dorothy Dodds. Sandy was actively involved with St. Philip’s Parish, and also volunteered much of her time with the Holy Rosary CWL. She was the past president of the Wyoming and District Soccer Club, initially joining because of her grandchildren’s involvement. Sandy quietly and humbly championed everything she set her heart and mind to. She was a visual artist, a gardener, and consumer of great literature. But most of all, Sandy was one of Lambton County’s most dedicated teachers with a passion for literacy, volunteering in her retirement right up until this past fall. “Your mother taught me to read” is something her children hear from strangers everywhere they go. So, if you grew up in Petrolia and you’re reading this, Sandy Gudz says “You’re Welcome”.
Cremation has taken place. A Catholic Mass and a celebration of Sandy’s life will take place in the Spring of 2020.
