Obituary of Myrl Doris Gregoire
May 20, 1925 – December 13, 2019
After 94 wonderful years, Myrl Doris Gregoire passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 13, 2019, at her residence in Prairie Lake Senior’s Community, Grande Prairie.
She will always be remembered for her infectious laugh, her love of family and friends, and golf.
Her last wish was to be buried with her late husband, Pat, who passed away in Pincourt QC on December 22, 1987. We plan to fulfil that wish at a later date. We will host a small gathering of those closest to her at that time.
Myrl was born on May 20, 1925 in Montreal and was the last member of her family of 3 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her son, Michael (Bainsville, ON); her daughter Jan (Riny) (Grande Prairie, AB); grandchildren Christian (Merle) (Groningen, Netherlands), Patrick, and Scott (Grande Prairie); and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Although battling dementia, she still managed to play a round of golf at age 93. And she remained very “proper” to the end – often commenting, in a slightly uncomplimentary way, on the shade of fingernail polish the care aide was wearing; or the style of their clothing or hairstyle.
A huge “Thank You” to all the staff and friends that helped look after her so well these past few years. You have made a real difference in her life – and ours, too.
Mom/Grandma/Myrl, we must now bid you a fond and tearful farewell.

There will be a tea in honor of Myrl, for staff and friends, at Prairie Lake Community Living, Birch Room on December 20th from 2-4.
