It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Emily Sadler Eisenhauer, 98, of Lunenburg, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg.
Born in Worthing, England, she was proud of her dual British and Canadian citizenship. She was also proud of her membership with the Women’s Voluntary Service during WW II, providing support and much needed tea and refreshments to those sheltering in the London Underground stations.
Mary was a lady of many talents; a pianist by ear, an artist, accomplished seamstress, knitter and crocheter. She also had a green thumb and grew flowers, vegetable gardens as well as house plants; along with a soft spot for injured birds, cats and animals, having nursed many an injured creature back to health over the years.
She was a loving and committed mother to her two daughters growing up and supported them in all their activities and interests.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Lynne (Dale) Lohnes, Lunenburg, Maria Eisenhauer, Charlottetown; grandchildren; Jason (Allison), Jared (Dawn), Kelly (Jeremias), Dylan; great-grandchildren, Kyler, Autumn and Isabella.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy #3 Lunenburg, and from where a small memorial service for family and family friends to celebrate Mary’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at 11:30 a.m. Private family interment to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia or Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg would be appreciated by the family.
